Icelandair's Mid Atlantic Seminar

February 3-7, 2010, I attended the Mid Atlantic Seminar in Reykjavik, Iceland.  This is the trade fair and seminar for Icelandair to bring their Travel partners from both sides of the Atlantic together in one place.  Representing Discover New England, with support from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and several area resorts, hotels, Inns and attractions, I was able to join the Boston CVB to carry the word of our destination to companies from several European Countries.  Stay tuned for our upcoming events that may just bring your company to the doors of our clients.

  • Good Morning,

My name is Beth Cape. my family and I own and operate the Barron Brook Inn, a 28 Room New England Inn located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our facility is located on 31 acres. We offer our guests affordable luxury with a strong emphasis on customer service. The experience starts at check-in, where are guests are welcomed with southern hospitality (we are originally from Alabama and Virginia). We offer to bring our guest’s luggage to their room, a tasty treat with water, lemonade, or tea. Our guests rooms are large and have all the modern conveniences from Wi-Fi, cable TV, air conditioning, hair dryers, a coin operated laundry facility, and a large continental breakfast every morning. Many of our rooms are newly decorated using Eco-friendly paints, American Clay (a wonderful product that goes on the walls and cleanses the air, great for people with allergies, cystic fibrosis, etc.), and natural linens. We buy many of our linens from Garnet Hill, a local company that sells fine linens via catalog and selected stores. All of our beds have lots of pillows. We want our guests to have a great night sleep. We are a seasonal Inn, opening May 1- November 1, 2011, we still have remained #1 on Trip Advisor for B&B’s/ Inns in Whitefield, NH.

On the property many of our guests enjoy our back porch with music, a hammock nestled in the trees, a fire pit for roasting the largest marshmallows around. We have a five minute trail that leads to our dock. The water is a large brook that one can canoe on. It is very private as we own across the brook to the other side, and a local high school backs up to the rest of the brook. Many of our guests have seen bear, moose, beaver, otter, bobcats, and many species of birds on our brook, or on our decks in the morning.

As you have signed up to attend the NE 16th Annual Tourism Summit and International Market, we would like you to make sure you visit with our representative for NH Grand. Her name is Samantha Kenny Maltis. She will have our brochures for the Barron Brook Inn. Although we do not have a restaurant on site, we work with a fantastic caterer that cooks only gourmet meals. Many times the bus tours will book lunch by an attraction they are visiting, and book dinner at the Mountain View Grand Hotel, which is 1.8 miles from the Inn. That way their guests can visit one of the three “Grand Hotels” in New Hampshire for dinner, and stay in a lovely affordable Inn at night, the Barron Brook Inn.

We currently have worked with TourMappers and Travalco. We have also hosted the band “Restless Heart”, the NH Civil Air Patrol, and reunions. The Omni Mt. Washington hotel is only 20-25 minutes away from my Inn. We are members of White Mountains Attractions, visitnh.gov, and NH Grand. If you are interested in stopping by, or if I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your time.

    Regards,
